Hello (Again!)

Hello (Again!) - Yep, I'm sharing yet another card made with my new The Stamps of Life Hello Die!

This time I've also used the hello shadow die.  Last month I went to a Stampin' Up workshop where we got to play with these cute hexie images from the Six-Sided Sampler set - I especially love the gingham one:)  The cs, ink, chevron embossing folder and candy dots are also from Stampin' Up.  The arrow images that I stamped using versamark ink are from Close to My Heart's Artiste Collection Word Balloons.  This isn't my usual style but I do like how it all came together.

And of course I'm popping this into the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Anything Goes!  I've challenged myself to enter the limit of 5 cards:)  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Seize the Sketch #23

Happy Weekend!  My day has gone nothing as planned due to a minor household disaster so I decided I may as well share another card I made:)  Last Friday my stampin' sis and I attended a Stampin' Up new catalog release party and got to play with some of the new products:

After stamping this sweet flower duo from the Bloom with Hope hostess set I colored the blooms with the new Stampin' Up alcohol markers (rich razzleberry assortment) and the stems with the old olive assortment.  I was pleased with the result and my only complaint was I thought the ink colors were a bit darker than the colors represented by the marker caps.  Each marker has a fine point option which is great for those smaller areas.

I decided to use the current sketch at Seize the Sketch to make my completed flowers into a "hello" card:

Can you tell I love my The Stamps of Life hello die - I think I've used it on every card I've made this month:)  It was cut from another one of Stampin' Up's new in colors called Tangelo Twist. The butterfly is from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps Majestic Monarchs set and was colored with Stampin' Up Pumpkin Pie ink and a blender pen.  This stamp set has several different sized monarchs with matching dies - I can tell already it will get as much use as my beloved Hero Arts Antique Engravings set.
Other Supplies Used:  Stampin' Up whisper white cs and rich razzleberry pp, Carta Bella Merry & Bright pp (grass), Our Daily Bread fence die, Spellbinder oval die

And since the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge is Anything Goes I'm popping this into their pool!  Hope your day is going better than mine:)  Thanks for the kind comments!

Hello Honey!

At the recent stamping convention I attended in Syracuse, NY I spent a looooong time in the Impression Obsession booth and took many pics of the card samples.  Because of one of the samples I fell in love with their wheat dies and ended up coming home with them -along with several others:)  The card I made is a total CASE of that sample and I searched the IO Design team blogs so I could give the appropriate credit - turns out this particular sample was made by Jenny Gropp and you can find her card here.

And here's my card:

I'm lovin' this combination of Stampin' Up's new In Colors Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss.  I think their Sahara Sand makes a great neutral with this combo.  The pp is from their Moonlight dsp collection - I've used so much of this stack already I'm probably going to order another one!
Other Supplies Used:  The Stamps of Life Hello die, Cricut Artiste cart (frame die), Stampin' Up Hello Honey stitched satin ribbon

I'm going to pop this into the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.  I'll be catching up on everyone's blogs this weekend - looking forward to seeing whatcha been up to:)  Thank you for your feedback!!!!

Oh Happy Day!

Yes, it's a happy day when I can find time to post! With summer in full swing I'm still squeezing in cardmaking in between all the outdoor activities I love to do but I don't always have the time to document my craftiness!   Love that the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Anything Goes gives me the opportunity to share a card I made with some new "stuff":

I used some of the new Stampin' Up In Color cs (Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey) along with some of the new dsp collection called Moonlight to create this birthday card for one of my besties:)  The sun, cloud and sentiment are from a Sweet 'n Sassy stamp set called (so appropriately!) Happy Happy.  I was introduced to Sweet 'n Sassy stamps at a recent stamp convention I attended in Syracuse, NY.  I picked up a couple of their stamp sets along with the matching dies and am very pleased with the quality and by the fact they are made in the USA.  Impression Obsession had a booth at the same convention and I picked up a set of 4 different eyeglass dies - used one of them to make some cool shades for the sun:)
Other Supplies Used:  Stampin' Up word bubble die and smoky slate cs, Papertrey ink white cs, Impression Obsession star die

I hope everyone's been having a great week!  Thanks for taking the time to give me some feedback- I truly appreciate it!

hello, hello!

It's been a rainy week here in upstate NY and I spent the whole day yesterday making cards in my sweats:)  I was able to get my hands on some of  Stampin' Up's new In Color cardstock and patterned paper.  At first I wasn't so sure I even liked the new colors but the more I see them combined the more they are growing on me:

When I saw this stamp set from The Stamps of Life (with matching dies) called "phone4you" and hello die I just "had" to have them!  Brought back memories of being tethered to the end of a phone cord and sitting cross legged on the floor of our kitchen while talking to every one of my friends I had just spent the whole school day with:)  My dad would set the timer on the kitchen stove and when it went off I had to hang up the phone for at least 2 minutes in case someone had been trying to call!  And do any of you remember party lines????  My mom's best friend had one at her lake cottage and I loved stealthily lifting the receiver of the phone so I could listen in on someone else's phone conversation - that is until my mom would catch me in the act:)  Ahhhhh, the good ole days!!

I stamped the phone on and die cut the hello from Stampin' Up's new Hello Honey cs (how perfect is that?!).  The card base and hello shadow are their new color called Blackberry Bliss.  And the patterned paper is from their new paper stack called Moonlight.  The Stamps of Life phone4you set contains some really fun sentiments and I placed them all on an acrylic block and stamped them in SU Smoky Slate ink on a circle die cut from the same color cs.
Other Supplies Used:  Papertrey Ink white cs, Eyelet Outlet black enamel dot, Spellbinder circle die

I'm entering this in the current Seize the Sketch challenge (The die cut hello's representing the line across the entire card front and the circle standing in for the rectangle behind the shape):

Have a great weekend and thanks for all the positive feedback!

Make It Monday on Tuesday!

I've noticed several of my blogging buddies sometimes play along with the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenges and I decided to give the current Challenge #168: Baby Wipe Stamping a try:

I used the PTI Delightful Dahlia Additions set with matching dies along with some Stampin' Up reinkers (real red, pumpkin pie and summer sun for the flowers and glorious green and green galore for the leaves).  Lovin' the tie dye effect!  Decided to try making a "nest" of gold elastic cord behind my focal point as I've seen so many others do (after all, this is Robin's Stamping Nest!)
Other Supplies Used:  Papertrey ink white cs and sentiment, Echo Park dotty pp, Stampin' Up banner die cut, gold stars, gold elastic cord and real red ink, Spellbinder square die, button from stash

Thought I'd share a pic of what inspired me to use this particular color combination on my card:

I've had this grouping of flower pots forever and this year I decided to spray paint them bright yellow and fill them up with red, orange and yellow flowers - so cheery!  They make me smile every time I sit out on our patio:)

I'm also popping this into the current Seize the Sketch challenge :

I hope your week is shaping up to be a good one!  Thanks for all the feedback!

What's Cooking?

It rained a little bit today so I headed into my craft room to play along with the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.  I don't own anything from the featured companies (Newton's Nook and Lil' Inker Designs) so I had to make do and use some more new goodies I acquired at the Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Getaway in Syracuse, NY I attended this past weekend:

I've been eyeing this cute stove image by Toomuchfun Rubberstamps for a few years now and when I saw they now offer it as a cling mount I couldn't resist:)  I embossed it twice on Stampin' Up pool party cs and again on silver cs.  I used foam tape to adhere the oven front so I could cut out the oven door window and line it with an acetate scrap.  The little pie image in the oven (that I had to cut down slightly) is from a Papertrey ink set "My Punny Valentine".  I don't normally purchase such bulky embellies anymore but I picked up a packet of these sugar and flour buttons from the same vendor as they are the same scale as the stove.
Other Supplies Used:  Papertrey ink white cs, Stampin' Up calypso coral cs, vellum and pp, My Mind's Eye woodgrain pp, Eyelet Outlet black enamel dots, Hero Arts soft brown shadow ink, WPlus 9 heart die, computer generated sentiment

Between the Syracuse show and the one in Buffalo I attended two weeks ago I have enough new product to keep me busy for the next decade- LOL!  I'm so excited over the cute stuff I picked up from new (to me) companies like The Stamps of Life and Sweet & Sassy Stamps that I have a hard time just picking one idea and executing it!  I know, I know - if that's the worst of my problems:)

Thanks for all the lovely comment and Happy Crafting!
