Moxie Fab World: Minty Fresh Challenge and I'm a Daytripper!

Looooooove this little guy from Memory Box!

After stamping this Polar Bear Globe image in Clearsnap seaglass pigment ink, I clear embossed then die cut it using a Spellbinder Nestie.  The same image was then black embossed twice on white cs and pp scraps.  The polar bear was then cut out and paperpieced to the main image.  Sentiment is from Hero Arts CL540 Christmas Reindeer.
Other Materials Used:  K & Company Peppermint Twist pp, My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary (Jack & Jill) pp, WPlus 9 banner die, Papertrey ink white cs, Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder, JoAnn's heart button

Hopefully this color is minty enough as I'm entering it into the Moxie Fab World: Minty Fresh Challenge!  This challenge runs until 9/3/12 so you've got plenty of time to give it a go:)  I'm also going to pop this into the current Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Animal Antics!

Wanted to share a few pics from the daytrippin' my hubby and I did last week at the gorge in Watkins Glen NY State Park.  Sorry there aren't any pics of us but this possibly was a worse "bad hair day" than our Niagara Falls trip:)

The way Glen Creek has sculpted the rocks is SO cool:

I just love how my husband got the flowers in the foreground of this shot:

And look at the brilliance of the greenery growing on the sides of the gorge:

The last time I hiked the gorge was as a kid with my parents.  All I can remember about that experience was having to go to the bathroom when we got to the top of the trail and racing back down as fast as I could to get to the restrooms way at the beginning of the trail :)  I had to giggle when halfway up my husband and I heard a little boy tell his mother he "had to go - NOW"!!!  I guess it served me right that my calves were killing me for days after our hike....

While part of me is sad summer is winding down these cooler temps are making me wistful for autumn.  Fall in our neck of the woods really is glorious!  Plus I love all things pumpkin :)

Happy Monday and thanks for taking the time to leave such thoughtful comments!

Robin, your card is so sweet! (Did you know it follows one of the sketches at Hero Arts for the challenge this month?) I love the colors and that sweet polar bear. Wonderful little scene!

Thanks for sharing the pictures from your hiking trip...I'd love to add that to our list of places to go! I laughed about the little boy who had to go (sounds familiar...except after four kids it is usually ME saying that, not them!). I agree, the cooler days have me looking forward to the cooler autumn days ahead. They will be here before you know it!

I can see why you love that Polar Bear Robin, it is the cutest and of course the way you actually designed your card, so uniquely, makes it even extra special! Thank you for sharing these beautiful photos, it really makes me want to go and do some hikes. There are plenty places not far from our home that we could do day trips to, but, I just need to move into my house first! Eventually life will seem normal again! Hugs, Brenda.
