PDCC #134 and Simon Says Stamp: Anything Goes Challenges

When I sat down to work on my card for The Play Date Cafe's current color challenge

right away I thought of some patterned paper I have from Crate Paper's Emma's Shoppe collection:

I stamped the flowers from Hero Arts CG434 Floral Blossoms in Ranger worn lipstick distress ink.  The sentiment from Hero Arts CL129 Anytime Messages is stamped in Hero Arts soft brown shadow ink.  I used this sentiment as kind of a nod to the gal bent over looking at the flowers in the color story picture:)  All edges were lightly inked with Ranger antique linen distress ink.
Other Materials Used:  Stampin' Up cs, seam binding ribbon, pp, button and twine, Cuttlebug swiss dot embossing folder, Papertrey ink cs, Nesties, another paper doily "rescued" from a restaurant dessert :)

I'm also entering my card in this week's Simon Says Stamp "Anything Goes" challenge.  They are featuring twine this week and I did use a wee bit of twine on the button.

I've been having a frustrating time trying to take better pics of my cards:(  Awhile ago my hubby built me a light tent using directions I obtained on the Paper Crafts website.  I've been experimenting with different light bulbs (soft, bright and combo of both) and even bought an inexpensive white sheet as I wondered if the old one I was using had too much of a yellow tinge to it.  Would LOVE your feedback on the pic above!!  This one was taken using bright bulbs in the utility lamps - does it look TOO bright????

Thanks for all your lovely comments and suggestions!

I think your photo is perfect, Robin - not too bright at all. Love this beautiful card! The colors are so pretty, and I love the way you stamped the Floral Blossoms near the edge of the circle - beautifully done! :)

Gorgeous, Robin! The dp from Crate Paper is a perfect choice! Beautiful design, too! I feel your frustrations with light adjusting! This is something I am trying to master and I always feel my pictures are too dark and not crisp enough! However, your picture looks great to me!

Yum, that Crate Paper is so perfect Robin! Love those roses from HA! Light...I am not an expert and eventually resorted to purchasing a light tent with the actual lights from the photo store I bought it from and it seems to be working. I don't see any problem with your photo, I'm not sure if it is dark or not, or maybe that is simply the "actual" real life color, especially with the background not being white! (I am boring, all my backgrounds are white!)

LOVE how this turned out, Robin! I'm no expert, but it looks to me like a little brightening in a photo editing program might make this a little brighter??

I just love this card, Robin! Great take on the inspiration provided. My photo taking is not the best, so I can't offer any advice except that I think this picture is just fine the way it is.

I'm in line right behind you for photo tips, Robin! But this card looks like you did a great job! I have tried so many tents and tricks, but find that my covered patio in the morning gives me the best results. Love the vintage look of this lovely card - great colors and love how you used that stamp. Sweet!

Hi Robin! I love the vibrant colors of this card and the beautiful pp!! As for the lighting, I don't know this paper so I don't know if it really looks true to life here. (it does look nice tho!) I'm no pro, but only thing I might say is if the sheet is supposed to be white here it really doesn't look it. You could play with that in an editing program and that usually changes the colors on everything else as well. (atleast in mine it does)
Hope that makes some kind of sense!! Good luck with it- it seems to be everyone is always chasing the perfect photo!!
