Baby, It's Cold Outside!

Yep.  The pseudo-spring we've been enjoying for the past month in upstate NY is officially over.  Boo!  This is a pic of our indoor/outdoor thermometer taken last night:

Inspired me to get out some old Stampscapes stamps and to do a little masking to create an "almost" flat card:

I stamped the images with black Stazon ink onto a piece of glossy white cardstock.  After masking off the "moon" with a die cut circle I sponged Ranger distress inks on the piece.  I'm going to be honest - for some reason I had a terrible time getting a crisp stamped image.  After several failed attempts I decided the blurry lines kind of resembled "mist" over the lake and went with it!  I added some Ranger icicle stickles to resemble frost.
Other Materials Used:  Stampin' Up elegant eggplant cs, Papertrey ink white cs, Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder

Hope you are warm wherever you are :)

Oh, my goodness, Robin! This is amazing! I'm so glad you left it this way - thought it was purposely done for the "mist and fog" look. It is absolutely gorgeous - looks like a painting! We had below zero temps here in Minnesota this morning, so I'm thinking that's what's comin' your way. Stay warm, my friend! :)

Hi Robin, this is amazing! Like Barb said, I thought you were purposely going for the misty/foggy effect because it is so gorgeous! What a mesmerizing scene!

Very ethereal and mysterious looking - love the effect you achieved, albeit unintentional at first! A beautiful card, Robin!

Snow today here; 10 degrees or below overnight tonight and more snow tomorrow night (supposedly from the Seattle storm)! But, then we are getting 40's and rain for the first of the week - lots of ups and downs this winter here! Really looking foward to spring...

So gorgeous, Robin....it's a beautiful frozen landscape. I love the misty, serene look.
I can't imagine waking up to 18 degrees, it's 54 degrees here in So Cal and I'm bundled up and still cold; I would not survive in a truly cold climate. At least the cold morning served as inspiration for your brilliant design.
