The two cards I'm sharing today were created using the same Cuttlebug embossing folder (Leafy Branch) but are for two very different occasions. For the sympathy card I embossed a piece of kraft cardstock and then decided to turn the image on its side. The butterfly is from Hero Arts (HA) CL383 Antique Engravings and the flower is from HA CL322 Artistic Borders. After stamping the sentiment from HA CL342 Everyday Sayings I die cut a Nestie ribbon tag.
Other Materials Used: Stampin' Up cs. pp and scalloped border punch, American Crafts buttons, Queen & Co. rhinestones, Michael's satin ribbon
This is the last birthday card I need for this month. I embossed a piece of Core'dinations paper then sanded the image - love the distressed effect! The butterfly from HA CL383 Antique Engravings was colored with Ranger spiced marmalade and peeled paint distress inks. The sentiment is from HA CG275 Birthday (4). I didn't add gems/pearls to the butterfly and used the brown eyelet and hemp to give this more of a masculine feel.
Other Materials Used: Stampin' Up cs and ppAlthough my dh is 100% Polish and I have just a wee bit of Irish in me we still celebrated St. Patrick's Day last week! I love corned beef and cabbage and managed to squeeze another meal of that in on Sunday (I have this great recipe where you bake the corned beef, cabbage, swiss cheese and thousand island dressing in a biscuit lined casserole - Yum!). On Friday I made close to 200 Irish potato candies and some Irish whiskey cakes for an event at the winery where I work part-time - after working full-time in the social work field for several years I'm fortunate to have the opportunity to work less and see family more :) The candy doesn't actually have any potatoes in it but you roll them in cinnamon to make them look like potatoes just dug from the ground! So cute and they were a big hit!
Thanks for stopping by and for all your sweet comments!

Hi Robin! Those candies sound so neat and good! I've never tried my hand at candies! :> I love how you've used the same folder but with such different purposes and different looks! :> The sympathy one is so soothing and pretty. And the birthday card just shines! I love the distressing!
Hi Robin! Such beautiful cards! You are inspiring me to take a look at my embossing folders a little more! Your cards are totally beautiful, and different! Love the blue and kraft, and green and kraft! Stunning!
Beautiful, Robin! Your sympathy card is stunning- calming colors, very nice.
I love both of these cards - the core'dinations paper especially works really nice with this leaf folder!
Super job on these cards Robin, adore your style and the embossing folders really give it such great texture!
The candies sound really yummy, Robin! Sounds like you had fun! Love both your cards today! The blues and browns on the first one are fab together and I love the distressed, embossed background on the second!
