Relax!

Happy Memorial Day to all my blogging buddies in the US and Happy Monday to everybody!  When I saw Simon Says Vacation/Travel for the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge I was soooooo excited to break out some new stamps and play along:

My Stampin' Sista and I made the almost 2 hour drive to attend the Creative Keepsakes Scrapbook Convention in Buffalo, NY 2 Fridays ago and are we ever glad we did!!!  While neither of us are scrapbookers we were introduced to Stephanie Barnard's The Stamps of Life and fell in love:)  If you check out the link you'll see that the stamp set (with matching dies!) I used on this card (flipflops2stamp) happens to be the stamp of the month!  I love that you can customize the flip flops and I chose to use some little resin flowers from Stampin' Up to fancy mine up a bit.  The sentiment, little starfish and waves are part of this set while the fish is from a Paper Smooches set.  I also picked up the fun pp at the convention - it's the Echo Park Here & Now collection.  I've had the sand pp in my stash forever and I was happy to have a use for it:)
Other Materials Used:  Papertrey ink white cs, Cricut Doodlecharms cart (sun die cut), Stampin' Up pool party and midnight muse cs, Staedtler flexible ruler, Mementos soft sand ink

Thanks for all the lovely feedback!  I look forward to catching up on everyone's blogs this week!

A Case of CASEing Two Lin/Lynn's!

Yesterday I needed to make and get a birthday card out in the mail to one of our nieces who lives in S.C.  AND, my mother-in-law asked if I could also make one for her as this particular niece is also her granddaughter:)  Hmmmmmm, what to do when you need not one, but two cards for the same person and your mojo is slowjo......

You CASE it!!  Ironically, I ended up unintentionally CASEing two different Lin/Lynn's:) I saw this beautiful card here on Lynn Put's blog using Papertrey ink's set Ruby Rose and it inspired me to create this:

I changed up the colors to Stampin' Up's coastal cabana and baked brown sugar (for the sentiment) and Hero Art's butter bar and green hills.  Couldn't resist adding the Recollections enamel dots and Darice sequins.  I really love how fresh and pretty this color combo is!
Other Supplies Used:  Stampin' Up's stylish stripes embossing folder, coastal cabana cs and pp and sentiment; Papertrey ink white cs and flourish (from The Sweet Life set), MFT banner dies, Hero Arts sunshine cs

I absolutely ADORED both cards in Lin's post here and knew I had to give this pie chart technique a go:

I used the die that coordinates with Papertrey Ink's set Hello Sunshine to die cut my pie chart triangles from Amy Tangerine's fun Sketchbook pp collection.  The negative flower panel was die cut with Spellbinder Blossom Two.  I thought the quirky font of this sentiment from Paper Smooches Pretty Phrases set was perfect:)
Other Supplies Used:  Papertrey Ink white cs, button from stash, Stampin' Up white twine

Speaking of celebrating!  Just had to share a pic of the Mega Margaritas our local Mexican restaurant served to our group last night in honor of Cinco de Mayo:

Hopefully it's "kosher" to enter my second card only in the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes!

Thanks to both the Lin/Lynn's for their awesome inspiration!!
